Gregg Shapiro hosts the Wednesday Night Poetry* Club (* & prose too) the 2nd Wednesday of each month at Aperitivo at Bona Italian Restaurant. Come early and order dinner and a beverage to enjoy during the reading!
The May WNPC features are Trey Rhone & Brendan Walsh.
Trey Rhone is a queer black writer from Augusta, Georgia but now resides in Miami, Florida. He currently has an MFA from Florida International University. If he isn't ranting about the latest music releases, ask him to tell you a fun fact about his favorite animal, the possum.
Brendan Walsh has lived and taught in South Korea, Laos, and South Florida. His work has appeared in Rattle, Maine Review, The American Journal of Poetry, and other journals. He is a 2022 Florida Book Award Gold Medal winner, and the recipient of grants from Fulbright and Broward Cultural Division. Brendan is the author of six poetry collections, and he co hosts the Fat Guy, Jacked Guy Podcast with Stef Rubino.
